What is the Stretch Space Method?

The Stretch Space Method is a system of myofascial assisted stretching that combines hands-on therapy, movement assessment and nervous system awareness to improve the way people move and feel.

Rather than forcing flexibility, we teach practitioners to work with the body's natural responses, creating sessions that are therapeutic, collaborative and sustainable.

Principles of Stretch Space Method

Fascia Focused

We view the body as an interconnected fascial system rather than a collection of isolated muscles. Local restrictions often have global effects, so we assess and treat the body as a whole.

The Nervous System Leads

Real change happens when the nervous system feels safe.

Instead of forcing range of motion, we create the conditions for the body to naturally allow more movement - starting with the breath.

Listen Before You Stretch

Touch and movement is a conversation.

Practitioners learn to develop sensitivity, feel tissue quality and respond to what the body is communicating rather than applying predetermined techniques.

Reorganise, Don't Just Release

Temporary tension relief is valuable, but lasting change comes from helping the body reorganise movement patterns.

Our goal is improved posture, balance and ease—not simply creating more flexibility.

Assess. Treat. Integrate.

Every session begins with movement assessment and ends by integrating changes into functional movement.

Improved range is only valuable if people can actually use it in daily life.

Client-Centred Practice

Every body is different.

The Stretch Space Method encourages curiosity, adaptability and collaboration rather than rigid treatment protocols.

I recently took Assisted Stretch Therapy Level 1 with Carolyn and Cian which I have adapted into my own bodywork practice. I have been working as a Traditional Thai massage therapist for over a decade. I am also trained in craniosacral therapy, lomilomi, hot stone and some shiatsu. I loved how similar Stretch Therapy is to Traditional Thai massage and I found I could adapt and understand this new modality rather easily. Even so, although I know a lot about stretch and movement therapy already, I still learned a lot of new information and philosophies from Carolyn and Cian. I normally stretch people on the floor so I really benefited from their course on how to adapt stretches on to a table. It's a course that is great for beginners and practiced facilitators alike. I have since adapted many of their movements both to the floor and table and have had incredible feedback from clients. Not to mention slowing down and feeling even deeper into opening the fascial system. Carolyn and Cian are incredible facilitators. They are relatable, gentle, fun, knowledgeable and encouraging. I look forward to taking Level 2
